Learning Beyond the Clinic

Helping children practice independence, social skills, and confidence in real-world settings.

What Are Community Outings?

At Five Star Pediatric Therapy, we know that real learning doesn’t stop at the clinic doors. Our community outings give children the chance to apply ABA skills in everyday environments like parks, stores, libraries, museums, summer camps, and restaurants.

These outings help children:

  • Build confidence outside of the clinic

  • Practice safety and independence

  • Strengthen communication and social skills

  • Learn flexibility in new environments

Why It Matters

Our goal is to make sure your child can thrive in all parts of life — not just during sessions. By practicing skills in real-world settings, children gain independence that carries over into home, school, and the community.

How It Works

  • Outings are planned by your BCBA and tailored to your child’s goals.

  • Sessions might include visiting a grocery store, playground, library, or other safe community setting.

  • Therapists provide 1:1 support, teaching skills like waiting in line, making purchases, safety awareness, and engaging with peers.

  • Parents receive updates so they can reinforce the same skills at home.
